I started this one last night with Archne/Mutilation Artisan Z who will be nicknamed 'Beholder'. it will be a clay wall mask, complete with horns and glass eyes. Here is a picture of it, ready for the second firing, after I filled in some areas and fixed cracks.

He is gonna be lovely! I still need to add the eyes and eyelids, then put in some teeth and fangs. Instead of painting, I thought I would glue on rows of glass beads in colored tattoos on his face. I got the idea from Necrosis Elementalist Pyre, who has tribal facial tattoos in white on his brown hide, So lovely! Then I will protect it with coats of lacquer. I haven't decided the colors yet. There is plenty of time to decide. This project will be a LOT of work!

I have the horns mostly done. He is shaping up nicely! I bought glass eyes for him....sky blue cat eyes!

More pictures! I have worked on the eyelids and the mouth. The blue glass eyes have shipped, so I hope to get them soon. The mouth is supposed to be a battle snarl, showing the fangs. The other picture shows what he will look like when I permanently affix the horns. Yes, he is all clay! Sculpey. Damn expensive! The horns have an aluminum foil core covered with masking tape to smooth it. All clay would be way too heavy! I am gonna affix him to a thin sheet of plywood so he can be hung on a wall. He needs sanded, and I think I might paint him. Beads would look good, but it would be hard to get them in around the mouth and eyes and have it look good.

Beautiful! <3 It's coming along nicely, SH. I find the expression more like the smiling face of an entertained demon than a fierce battle snarl, as an expression is in more than just the mouth, and changes the whole face. It's still really awesome to watch it all come together.

That is SO funny, Kits! My demons said exactly the same thing too me. They told me hat this was a demon SMILE, and that few warriors snarled because it telegraphed their emotions and intents. It is nice to get confirmation about what I heard them say.
