The first shield you would work with is the one you learn to create for yourself. The other shields depend on relationships you have with others. So if you currently work with a god / goddess, you can ask them for protection. If you work with any familiars or have any created thoughtforms / egregores, you can have them protect you.

Just like Akelta says, "you need to experiment and learn and find the shield that is perfect for you and will give you the strength and protection that you need."

Play around with it all. Create shields from different elements (earth, fire, etc) give them different colors (blue, red, etc). Try different things and follow your intuition. Play around with it.

Also something else that is pretty fun to do with a friend or family member if someone is open to it. Create a shield have them slowly walk towards you and stop when they feel it. And then have them throw energy at it to find out what happens.

All of us are different, so how demons communicate with you will be unique. Both Halphas & Lady Naamah have gifted me protection.
